It’s graduation season, which means loved ones will be visiting KC. Make the most of commencement weekend with good food, activities for everyone, and picture-perfect photo ops around Kansas City.

|
🎓 Grab a bite
Calm down pre-graduation jitters with brunch at Rye Plaza, Succotash, or The Farmhouse. Dinner reservations tend to fill up quickly, but there is still some availability for Italian at Plate, Austrian-German at Grünauer, and seafood at Eddie V's.
🎓 Making memories
Graduation is a major milestone, so it is the perfect time to make some memories with the people who mean the most to you. What better way to explore the city than with The Pitch’s “Welcome to the City of Heart” Scavenger Hunt? For the sports fans, a Royals game might just be calling your name. With the weather potentially in the 90s this week, venture outdoors with a trip to the Kansas City Zoo, one of the most ranked spots in the metro by locals.
Pro tip: Share our May Plan Ahead calendar with guests ahead of time and have them pick out an activity.
🎓 Photo ops in the city
Campus photos are always a staple. However, if you’re looking for a change of scenery, celebrate the love you have for KC with skyline pictures at Liberty Memorial, or add a pop of color to pictures with one of the metro’s many murals. Being in the City of Fountains, you can’t go wrong with pictures at Mill Creek Park’s fountain. If you like a rustic + vintage look, opt for pictures in the West Bottoms.
Wrap a perfect weekend up with graduation gifts. We recommend local-curated gifts from Kansas City Box, flowers from Shop Local KC, or candles from 5B&CO.

Editor's pick: With temperatures up to 90s, it's officially seltzer season. I've currently been digging Boulevard Brewing Co.'s Quirks. My current favorite is the Cherry Blossom & Lime. But, with six new flavors that were recently released, that might soon change.
