• A boo-zy pop-up bar is open in the Historic Independence Square. Apparition: Spook Easy — located in what used to be the town’s only morgue — will feature 13 Halloween-themed cocktails. Guests will carry lanterns as they navigate to the underground bar. The pop-up will be open through Oct. 31. 🧛 (Kansas City Magazine) 

Ranked

• Crossroads Hotel earned a No. 9 spot on Travel and Leisure’s list of “Top 15 City Hotels in the Continental U.S.” The hotel received an overall score of 95.03 — 0.11 points shy of a No. 8 ranking. Hotels were rated on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. 🏆

Sports

• Sporting KC regained its No. 1 spot in the West with a 4-0 win over Minnesota United FC. Khiry Shelton, Daniel Salloi, Johnny Russell and Cam Duke all scored goals, and the defense held Minnesota to 0 shots on target. This is the team’s 2nd straight win. Sporting will be back at home Sept. 26 to host 2nd place Seattle. 
• Salvador Perez is officially tied with Johnny Bench — hall of famer and former catcher for Cincinnati Reds — for most home runs by a catcher in a single season. Salvy hit No. 45 out of the park in his last game, increasing his league-leading RBIs to 112. ⚾

Seasonal

• Fright Night. Halloween season is back in the West Bottoms. The Beast and Edge of Hell haunted houses open tonight for the 47th year. It will remain open on weekends through Nov. 17. DYK: Edge of Hell features the world record longest living snake? 🔦
• The haunt is on. Worlds of Fun is bringing you a world of fear today with the start of its annual Halloween Haunt. Experience the thrills of your favorite rides and the chills of extreme haunted attractions as you navigate the park — filled with 400+ monsters lurking. You can buy tickets here through Oct. 30. 

Travel

• The Kansas City Aviation Department recommended a news, gift, food + beverage concessionaire for the New Terminals at KCI. The proposal will move ahead to the Transportation, Infrastructure and Operations Committee, before it reaches a final vote. View renderings of the proposal here. ✈️

Biz

• Leawood-based AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. CEO Adam Aron is targeting cryptocurrency fans. The CEO said he would let moviegoers pay for tickets + concessions with bitcoin by the end of the year. He also tweeted that the theater will accept Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. 💸 

Traffic

• The 119th Street bridge over I-35 in Olathe will remain closed through the end of the month. Construction began June 1. Safety concerns of falling debris from the bridge paused progress. Crews also discovered a need for additional removal + repair of concrete. The entire project has an estimated completion for the end of the year. (FOX4)
